NAINConnect 2013 [Aug 11-14 in Toronto] Call for Proposals Deadline is extended to May 1.
Theme: In Diversity is Our Strength
The 25th Anniversary NAIN Connect will be held August 11 -14, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, hosted by the Toronto Area Interfaith Council. Proposals are invited for workshops, panel presentations, audio-visuals related to the conference theme: In Diversity is Our Strength.  Possible topic areas include:
  • Beyond tolerance: celebrating diversity and difference
  • Challenges of difference and diversity: confronting structures of inequalityChallenges of diversity within our faith communities
  • Creating intercultural/multi-cultural communities
  • Diversity/spirituality in the workplace/school
  • Engaging and integrating young adults in interfaith workGlobalization and economic justice: faith community and interfaith responses
  • Indigenous spirituality and justiceInterfaith and ecological justice
  • Interfaith and immigration issues
  • Interfaith response to human rights issues
  • Living as faithful people in a secular and materialist societyNAIN at 25 – gifts, challenges, vision; what have we learned?
  • Practices of faith in interfaith contexts: prayer, liturgical movement (dance), musicReligion and civic engagement
  • Social media/new technology (values and balance)Ways to introduce and engage people new to interfaith dialogue
