Reflections on Connect 2012 by Rob Hankinson

Rob Hankinson Report – NAIN Connect 2012

The Edmonton Interfaith Centre for Education and Action (EICEA) has been a member organization of the North American Interfaith Network (NAIN) since 1996 when Dr. Lila Fahlman, Rev. Dr. Don Mayne, and I attended NAIN’s annual conference (the Connect) in Dallas Texas at Thanksgiving Square.  In 1998 Edmonton (and our Centre!) hosted the 10th Anniversary meeting of NAIN Connect, and some remark, even to this very day, that that Connect was among the finest, if not the largest.

In July 2012 NAIN met in Atlanta, Georgia, the “heart and soul” (C.T. Vivian) of the American Civil Rights movement.  This history and heritage was not lost in the event’s programming.  Read more here.

The NAIN journey of interfaith discovery continues, this year in Toronto, August 11-14.  See <NAIN.org>, click on “Connects”, and follow the prompts. This year’s theme:   “In Diversity is our Strength”.  Looking forward to seeing you there.
